1905 Coca Cola Ad

This 1905 Coca-Cola ad wasn’t just selling a drink. It sold status. Featuring Lillian Nordica, a famous opera singer, it connected Coca-Cola with elegance, beauty, and a touch of aristocracy—all for just five cents.

Marketing Analysis

Instead of showing a refreshment on a hot day, Coke showed refinement. Nordica’s lavish dress, pearls, and posture made the brand feel aspirational. The message? “Drink Coke, feel classy.”
