Written by human Neville, no ai in this email. This is me writing this
email....but what am I pointing at?? Continue reading to see...

Swipe:
.....so I'm pointing at this littttllltle thing right here I can see whilst typing. See it?

Let's zoom in a little more...

Oh my god it's a 15 story tall ad 😮

It's a GIANT HubSpot ad! This popped up right before SXSW in Austin, and there's no way anyone's missing this ad 😂

I'm so curious to see how they even affixed this giant thing onto the entire side of a giant building!
Wisdom:
I like this pic from Nathan Barry of Kit fame, where it shows BEFORE you work for yourself, that you've actually proven you can do it on the side:

I've seen many people wanna "do something on their own" and quit their job, only to find out they don't really like working for themselves or by themselves.
The common advice is: Start your "thing" on the side, and if it gets big THEN quit your job.
Interesting:
So this guy at a conference found out if you place a stack of flyers on a table, no one takes them.
But if you splay them out in circles like shown here, people keep taking them so often that they had to keep replacing the flyers every few minutes!

Picture:
My last few emails didn't include pics of my fam and all these people reached out saying "WHERE'S THE BABY PICS!"
Our little guy is 4 months old now, always laughing and smiling, and is starting to unlock new skills.

Essay:
SO for SwipeFile.com we've been getting sponsors, and it's a new line of revenue for me. It's harder and longer (giggity) than I expected, because you have to have many meetings with companies to hash out the sponsorship terms.
For a smaller creator this could be kinda hard, that's why every once in a while I use the Kit Ads network which completely gets rid of that process, and you just drop in ads:
For example, I had an ad offer here inside Kit where I would get $1.53 per click:
It's cool to see some easier ways to monetize audiences like this (previously the only option was really Google AdSense but those numbers are generally not great unless you let it completely take over your site with ads).
Here is a Morning Brew ad we ran back in September. If I were running one of the ads NOW I would get $1.75 if you clicked it.

Splurge:
So for sit/stand desks I've always had a major gripe: THEY RARELY HAVE DRAWERS!
This means you have a mess of wires hanging everywhere, and no where to store stuff like pencils, laptops, whatever.
Also I can never really find the right color combination, so for the last few years alllll my desks have been franken-desks I just mash together.
Me and my wife wanted some new desks in the office, and we liked this combo of sit/stand plus this desk topper:

Sit Stand Legs - $139 / 47" desk - $489
So first you build the sit/stand leg assembly.
I bought this one because it has rear-set legs versus center sitting, which I just like the aesthetic a little better:

Then I got the desk ready:

I never assembled the legs on it because I don't need them:

Then you grab a drill and some screws and just screw that desk to the top. There's no pre-drilled holes or anything so you just screw it in directly to the desk:

And voila! A desk with drawers that I like, and it's also electronically controlled sit/stand!

I also liked this desk because it had three drawers and a cable management area where all your wires go in the back:

• Sit Stand Legs - $139
• 47" desk - $489
• Total: $628
The next step is cleaning up the wires, and then I get another desk just like this for my wife which I'll assemble next to mine.
Fun little project :)
Hope you have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Neville Medhora
