My favorite thing to do is "Work Backwards" on a goal. It's simple: Step 1.) Make a goal. Step 2.) Work backwards to see how to accomplish it. So if I want to write 10 chapters of a book by the end of the year, it's easy to "Work Backwards" to that goal and plot out writing each chapter:
