New split test time! I'm going to split test these five really different SwipeFile sign up forms. Site-wide signup is 1.48%, I want it at 5% after launching one of these.
Which do you think is going to work best???

We start testing these this morning, I will report back with the results in a few weeks!
Wisdom:
This is a cool article title: Hiring builders, not bachelors.

It basically stats that in the near future people might not care as much about your college degree, but about what you have done already.
You can easily just "show your receipts" by showing projects or products you've you've built
Perhaps in the future you won't necessarily need to show a piece of paper from a college to prove that you're good for a job....just proof of work.
Interesting:
This is a great reminder from Jason Cohen (founder of WP Engine) that you should focus on solving a customer problem.

If you can't easily articulate it, very quickly, what problem you're solving for a customer, then perhaps you don't truly know or understand the problem.
Picture:
I live in Texas and summers can got hooootttt...and being in my little garage gym gets very warm.
So I recently got a mini split AC put in there!
In like 5 or 10 minutes the whole garage is super cold when I turn this thing on:

I didn't know much about mini split AC's, but you can apparently hook up multiple heads to one condenser unit, so I opted to get another one installed in my upstairs bedroom as well (may as well whilst getting it installed in garage already):

98% of the time this isn't needed in the bedroom, but if I have guests stay downstairs in the dead of summer, sometimes my current AC struggles to cool both upstairs and downstairs zones really fast....so this is a "cool" backup to have (see what I did there) 😏
Essay:
Waymo and Tesla operate is very different ways.
This shows the difference between Waymo and Tesla cameras. It shows that Waymo has a lot more cameras (29), five LIDAR sensors, and six radars.
Whereas Tesla takes a completely different approach and goes AI + vision only to drive. So it just has nine cameras. And then from that, it can completely drive, much like a human uses its eyes to drive:

Here's another comparison photo for the newer generation of Waymo's:

I’ve taken 100+ confirmed Waymo rides, and I’ve driven Tesla FSD over 4,000 miles on my own Hardware 4 Model X.
….so I’ve seen both of them in extreme situations.
- Neither ever put my life in danger.
- Self driving so dumbly-obvious the future of all cars.
In a Waymo:

My Model X:
Here's my personal thoughts on both of these:
WAYMO Pros/Cons:
✅ First mover advantage, so new riders are shocked with how nice a self driving ride is.
✅ Drives really well.
✅ Implementation done very very well.
✅ I talk to the Waymo like a pet, and thank it 😂
❌ Drives in only limited areas.
❌ Takes very odd routing, adds a decent amount of time to each ride.
❌ The car looks a little goofy with the spinning lidars.
TESLA FSD Pros/Cons:
✅ Drives as good if not better than the Waymo.
✅ Drives me literally anywhere. From start to finish. Took a 1,300 mile road trip to Marfa and Big Bend, 99.8% of the drive on FSD, including winding Big Bend mountain roads.
✅ It handles complex traffic really well.
✅ It looks like a 100% normal car whereas Waymo has all sorts of crazy equipment swirling around.
✅ I can set it’s driving mode. Chill Mode is very cautious and stays with surrounding traffic. Hurry Mode will blast past everyone and be aggressive.
✅ Model Y and X would be better for riding in back seat than Jaguar iPace (both have back-screens for controls).
✅ Hardware 4 models have solved issues with sun glare, phantom stops, and road humps.
✅ I feel so much safer when FSD is on versus when I drive (100% of close calls and wrong turns happen when I’m driving, not FSD).
❌ It’s not 100% autonomous yet as I still have to vaguely look at the road every 10 seconds or so. It feels like it SHOULD be though.
❌ At this moment I can’t just climb in back seat and car will drive me. I have to be in the drivers seat so I can’t use laptop or fall asleep.
I love both Waymo and Tesla, and hope they both succeed!
The killer feature Tesla has is that it can go ANYWHERE. Meaning you can drop a Tesla in any city/state and it’ll just go. Waymo seems very geographically constrained to only a few locations.
