This email written by Neville Medhora of SwipeFile and a baby:

Swipe:

We run this company SwipeFile.com as a place for marketers to find ideas.

But we run it day-in-and-day-out...and sometimes it's hard to come up with fresh ideas for the business.

So we built an internal product called SwipeFile Remix that sends us one cleverly crafted idea/ad/angle everyday via email.

No logging into anything. No clicking buttons. Just a daily idea based off high performing marketing.

Here's some examples from the last week and the ideas I got from each:

Monday: I never thought about angling it at "tanked ads" for companies that need more fresh ideas.

Tuesday: I loved the angle of "Idea Thieves Welcome." Most people using SwipeFile use us for our ads and leave...and we welcome it, I never thought of this angle.

Turn the copycat comment into proof

Wednesday: This before/after style ad shows how hard it is to search for and collect inspiration for your business...whereas SwipeFile simplifies the hunt. I liked this angle and this style!

One place replaces the whole inspiration hunt

Thursday: This was a plain-text ad modeled after a famous Gary Halbert ad that explains exactly what SwipeFile is. I LOVE this one!

Mass personalization with a handwritten feel

Friday: This was a badass comparison ad that shows how SwipeFile saves you time when launching a product and making marketing for the launch.

I never would've thought of an idea like this if I didn't get it from SwipeFile Remix.

Find your next campaign idea faster

All of these fresh ideas were sent to me by SwipeFile Remix, which I paid for once at $200 for the year, then everyday it sends me a fresh idea.

  • I do no work.

  • I don't have to log in.

  • I just buy it once, and it sends me fresh ideas.

  • It builds by own personalized board of swipes I can view anytime.

Check it out here and signup your business (or your employers business). One idea can change everything.

Wisdom:

I love this quote:

"I'm not a producer. I'm a reducer."

image-1785906617075.png

A lot of times instead of ADDING features, or ADDING marketing, or ADDING more stuff.....the secret is to reduce, or focus on one thing.

I remember hearing Steve Jobs speak about when he returned to Apple, the company was in trouble, and had 350 active projects, and 40 different product lines.

That same year he cut it down to just 10 products using this simply matrix:

This Is the Super Simple Chart Steve Jobs Made to Save Apple From Extinction - Business Insider

30 products were instantly slashed, and they put an extreme focus on the quality of just a few products.

They didn't add things, they reduced things.

Interesting:

With over 20,000 people going through Kopywriting.com materials, running results through our forum, and over 700+ live office hours, I've come to this one conclusion:

Short emails are almost always the best performing.

Here's an example of a really short email. It works because it SOUNDS PERSONAL. It's more like a notification than an email.

The longer it is, the more template-y it sounds:

Here's a video about my theory on this, and when to use longer emails:

Picture:

This past weekend we did a close friends trip to Utah and did a lot of family hanging.....there were TWELVE KIDS so we did mostly all family friendly stuff, plus a lot of fun hanging time!

(The blurry faces are because sometimes I don't know who has what comfort with posting their child's face online):

Hanging out with dad in the airport!

Fortunately he slept most of the time on his first flight!

Essay:

This is a good point that what is considered "cheating" or "not real" eventually WILL be real.

I have a prediction that in a short time, to the new generation, there won't be a difference between "Writing" and "AI Writing."

It will be fused.

For example there's no longer a distinction between writing with a pen and paper and typing on a computer.....but there used to be!

I still massively prefer manually writing most things (like this email), but there are many places (like Amazon product descriptions) where AI writing is super good and helpful.

Two things matter with AI writing:

  • People don't mind AI writing, but they don't like being tricked. If it's really you writing then tell them, but don't trick them.

  • With original thinking, manual writing is still best. If it's just a "how to article" or a product description, AI is usually fine.

Splurge:

Despite containing about 4% of the world's population, the United States accounts for making new millionaires at an extraordinary pace compared to anywhere else.

Even if these numbers are off by 100,000 people this is still an extraordinary number!

Hope you have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Neville Medhora
