All human-written email. I am currently writing this from my car on Thursday afternoon as I'm driving to the SpaceX Starship launch:

Swipe:

Those legendary Apple β€œTo the crazy ones” ads are amazing, and this was a funky-layout version that was visually eye catching because of the odd format.

Also in terms of inspiration and copy this was amazing too:

Wisdom:

For founders that start a $1 billion valuation company (a "unicorn") this shows that 70% of founders have some sort of technical degree, and 30% have a more liberal arts degree.

This makes sense as generally most of the billion dollar companies being formed nowadays have a strong engineering component.

Interesting:

In an age of AI where content is being produced at a massive rate by ai, one thing is still super important:

"Possession of the customer is still really really valuable."

β€” Ben Horowitz

I see this allll the time where people are pumping out products with AI at a rapid pace, but rarely getting customers because that's the hardest part.

This is why a lot of existing companies with existing customers are grabbing much of the upside of AI, because they ALREADY have the customer, and they can just add on ai-built products to their existing base.

Picture:

I love when an internet meme gets popular and takes off, and this one was kinda funny:

Spotify re-designed their logo to this.....and the internet roasted them because they just took their existing logo and added a disco ball:

Almost immediately all these brands band-wagoned onto making their logos disco ball-ified 🀣

The internet is funny :)

Essay:

"The Most Interesting Man In The World" Dos Equis spokesman character was invented in 2006, and 20 years later that iconic guy is still being used!

I saw this giant mural on the side of a building where I walk:

Some other famous logos that's been going strong for years include:

Cool that a company can utilize a single brand for so long!

Splurge:

So I'm driving over to Starbase, TX by Mexico for the SpaceX Starship launch, me and my brother (who designs space stuff for NASA) were trying to go last week but the launch got scrubbed twice, so hopefully today we see!

We are stopped charging and working for a bit since it was a last minute trip:

Some things I'm very thankful to have for a trip like this:
- WiFi anywhere through my phone.
- A laptop.
- A business I can theoretically run from anywhere.
- A self driving car to do all the driving.

Hopefully this launch still happens, it's been pouring rain the whole drive so far, crossing fingers! 🀞🏻

Hope you have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Neville Medhora
